Dr. Gerald Lynch

Gerald LynchGerald Lynch, MD is a general surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Surgery, with a fellowship from the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lynch graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago in 1987, trained in all areas of general surgery, with a special interest in breast cancer, thyroid disease and advanced laparoscopic techniques. He completed his medical school training at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, graduating in the top 10% of his class. His internship and residency continued at Rush University Medical Center where he helped pioneer some of the minimally invasive techniques used in the treatment of breast cancer. In 1997, he was voted teacher of the year by the entire surgical residency program, and has since won three additional teaching awards from the residency program at West Suburban Medical Center. He was recently voted Chairman of the Department of Surgery at WSMC. Dr. Lynch furthers his education by attending the annual Mayo Clinic Surgery Symposium, allowing him to stay in touch with innovative, new surgical techniques.
